JGRMX is proud to announce that the team will support Phillip Nicoletti, a determined privateer, in a new developmental pilot program. Nicoletti, who hails from New York but has been training not far from the team’s North Carolina headquarters appears to have the potential to race as a professional but has lacked the resources available to top-tier teams. Nicoletti will be part of a new endeavor that will offer him an opportunity to showcase his talents, while simultaneously giving the team immediate access to a replacement rider familiar with it’s equipment should one of the two primary team riders suffer an injury.

There was a sense of anticipation in the air for the riders that had not the chance to try Swift Current’s new track lay out for the second CMRC race held in Swift Current for 2013. The club did a great job prepping the track with ample grooming and watering during the preceding days. There were many comments regarding how well the track flowed and how the jumps had improved take offs and landings over the previous track. One of the awesome features Swift Current has with their track is you can watch your favorite rider for almost the entire lap with exception of one little corner off to left. Which is just perfect. Because the crowd was always watching with great expectation to see who got past who when they disappeared behind the hill on their left. It added just the right amount of excitement to make the racing that much better for the spectators. There is only one thing the track needs. That is a barbed wire fence and turret with a Gatling gun between the pit area and spectator parking so Randy Maffenbeier can finally keep the competitors from pitting in the spectator parking! One day Randy. One day.
Strang's motocross park near Port Elgin, New Brunswick played host to the 2nd last round of the CMRC Atlantic Fall Series. A forecast of rain for the weekend hurt the turnout as the number of riders was down by about a 100. The rains stayed away until the last couple of motos on the day and those 200 plus racers that did show up put on a great show. The track was in amazing shape with riders blasting the sandy berms. Here are a few photos of how the day unfolded. Be sure to check out the final race of the Atlantic CMRC Fall Series at Riverglade MX on September 14th.
As I stood up on top of one of the table tops early in the morning with the rumblings of the 8oclock riders meeting in the distance. I wondered why the CMRC discontinued Regina’s track as one of the stops on the CMRC Pro National circuit. As I panned the track I saw many elevation changes, bowl turns, step ups, step downs, table tops, doubles, triples and uphill turns. Regina’s track is pretty awesome.
