So, you've seen some of the big named off-road riders racing, Bobby Prochnau, Jason Schrage, Josh Long, Guy Giroux, or even Cory Graffunder and Chantelle Bykerk at the X Games, and you want to give it a try yourself. You've got a modern dirt bike that's been done up for motocross, and don't have the desire or cash to go out and buy an off-road special model bike. Well, good news, there is lots you can do to that MXer to tone her down and turn your moto ride into a woods weapon.
So far we've had top ten male riders of influence, top ten motocross movies and top ten siblings, so some of the names on this list might be a bit familiar. We have riders of International fame and decoration, women who have comepeted in the AMA, the WMA and the FIM. Women who represent Canada in places like the Trials des Nations and the International Six Days Enduro, and can I just say that I am proud to call many of these women friends.
Siblings and rivalries go together like peanut butter and jam and given that Motocross is a family sport, there are no shortages of great sibling pairs in the moto and enduro world. We've gone through the results, the press releases and the history books in some cases to find ten of the best one-two punch siblings.
Another top ten list! Yup, I have a million of these things. This one is all about life on the couch, or, well, it kind of is. This one is dedicated to something that most of us Canadian dirt bikers simply can’t live without: Movies.
YAMAHA’S TOP 10 LIST!
Yamaha’s Got It All at the Toronto Motorcycle Show
From the novice rider to a seasoned racer, Yamaha has you covered at this year’s Toronto Motorcycle Show! Here are ten reasons why stopping by the Yamaha booth is a must:
- Always wanted to try a scooter but never had the opportunity? Yamaha will be giving free demo rides out of the Yamaha Riding Academy. Stop by the booth for more details.
- How do you make one of the most sought-after motorcycles even more so? Throw in 7-stage traction control, a redesigned front end and a classic, MotoGP 50th anniversary paint scheme for a stunning reinvention of the 2012 R1.
“Influential” can mean so many different things. In this case, I’m going for riders who: have made a lasting impression on the sport, other riders and fans; riders who are exceptional in skill; have had long, notable careers (between 2001 and 2011); and/or continue to inspire the next generation of riders in their disciplines.
