Minnedosa, MB – The KTM Red Bull Thor racing team made its way to the prairies, this past Saturday, for the 4th round of the MX Tour series.

The beautifully prepped McNabb Valley MX track was also the last race of the western leg of the series. With Kaven Benoit and Cole Thompson finishing on the two highest steps of the 450 podium and Ward getting his best finish of the season yet, the team will now be taking a well-deserved break and be back, READY TO RACE in Ontario on July 7th.

In the 450 class, both Kaven Benoit and Cole Thompson had an amazing day, gaining valuable championship points. In the first moto, Thompson crossed the finish line for the first time just inside the top 5. After only a few laps, Cole had worked his way up to the 3rd position and rode a solid race to the checkered flag. Meanwhile, Benoit didn’t quite grab the Holeshot but still found himself in the lead within the first lap. Kaven had to push really hard for the entire moto to be able to keep his lead, but was able to come out victorious. The 2nd 450 moto of the day was even better for the KTM Red Bull Thor riders. After a great battle with other riders, Benoit and Thompson ended up in 1st and 2nd, battling for the lead. Kaven was able to stay in front until the checkered flag waved and finished with a perfect 1-1 score. Cole also got his best overall finish of the season with 3-2 giving him 2nd overall on the day.

It was also a good round for 250 rider, Tanner Ward, who got his best finish of the season so far. After a good start in the first moto, Tanner found himself in 6th place battling with the riders around him. He gained and lost positions during the moto and ended up crossing the finish line in 6th. Ward got a better start during the 2nd moto, but was quickly pushed back into 6th place after a small mistake in the first lap. He kept it consistent with the previous race and finished 6th for 5th overall on the day.

Jean-Sébastien Roy – KTM Red Bull Thor – Race Team Manager
“I am really happy with how the whole team rode today. The guys are starting to find their groove and I’m really looking forward to seeing them on their favorite tracks during the Eastern rounds. The championship points are really tight in the 450 class right now and the intensity will just keep rising up, so we will make sure to take a good break and come back where we left off… on top.”

KTM Canada, Inc. would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continual support.
